The Bernard S. Phillip, II scholarship is dedicated to supporting the next generation of funeral service professionals. This scholarship is open to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the field of mortuary science and meet the following criteria:

Eligibility Requirements
- Residency or Enrollment:
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited mortuary science program located in the state of Florida or Georgia.
- Program Type:
- Must be pursuing one of the following:
- An Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree in Funeral Service or Mortuary Science
- A Funeral Director Certificate Program
- Must be pursuing one of the following:
- Enrollment Status:
- Must be enrolled part-time or full-time and in good academic standing at the time of application.
- Commitment to the Profession:
- Applicant should demonstrate a genuine interest in a career in funeral service through prior experience, personal statement, or recommendation.
- Application Materials Required:
- Completed scholarship application
- Proof of current enrollment in an eligible program
- One letter of recommendation (academic or professional)
- A brief personal statement (250–500 words) explaining your passion for funeral service and career goals
Additional Considerations
- 2 scholarships to be awarded at $1,500 each (FL / GA mortuary schools only)
- Scholarships are awarded annually and are non-renewable; applicants may reapply each year they remain eligible.
- Video introductions are encouraged, not required.
- Applicants will be notified via the email address provided in the application. Awards will be made payable to the college of the named applicant.
